Pain Free Home Birth at 43, A Two Hour Peaceful Birth Story
Before this birth began, I had already seen it.
A pain free deeply peaceful birth.
A birth experience that felt written into my body long before birthing began.
With my second baby, I learned the power of visualization.
With my third, I visualized my two hour home birth exactly as it unfolded.
This time, that knowing lived even deeper. I could feel how everything would unfold.
When birthing began, it felt like stepping into the ocean. The waves came, steady and rhythmic. I moved with each one, diving in, rising with it, and then gently letting go. At the peak of each wave, I softened into slow, steady exhales that allowed my body to open. Each breath carried my baby down, as I surrendered completely.
Our birth team quietly arrived at midnight, stepping into a space that felt calm and grounded.
As I stepped into the birth pool, there was a rhythm to follow, like waves in the ocean, and my body knew exactly what to do. I felt deeply connected to God, held in safety, knowing my body and this birth were being guided and protected every step of the way.
As my baby moved down, I could feel her head, a point of connection and real time feedback. I adjusted my breath and positioning, softening more with each wave.
This birth flowed from beginning to end. I remember smiling and laughing between waves, my three children nearby, taking photos and waiting to meet their baby sister. At one point I looked up and let out a brief cry (I believe this was my transition) missing my mom who was not at my birth this time, asking for my team to tell me I can do this, and then quickly shifting to “I feel the water bag, she’s coming,” as I supported my perineum, breathing her down and allowing the fetal ejection reflex to take over completely.
By 2:30 am, I was holding her in my arms. She arrived calm and strong, exactly as she was meant to. All three of my girls were home birth VBACs but this one was visualized to a T.

My sweet baby made her way to us under a full moon, during an eclipse, on 3-3. The kind of timing that makes you pause. The moon moves the tides, and birth follows tides too. Something about her arrival felt written into the sky. A fast birthing time. A peaceful home birth. A physiological birth. A deeply intuitive, pain free birth. Unrushed. Fully supported.
Physiological birth has its own intelligence. It cannot be rushed or controlled by the outside world. It responds to safety, nourishment, and readiness.
This birth had:
No clock.
No pressure from providers.
No fear.
No cervical checks.
No bright lights.
No tearing.
No stitching.
No unnecessary intervention.
This is what I believe sits at the heart of a pain free natural birth. Not forcing. Not bracing. Just connection, movement, listening, responding, simply allowing.
I swayed. I moved. I stayed nourished and hydrated. I followed what my body was asking for moment by moment. The energy in the room stayed soft and grounded, exactly what supports a calm, pain free birthing time. No chaos, no fear, no sense of being overwhelmed. Just a body that felt safe enough to fully open and do what it was designed to do.
We named her Maecy Reese, her middle name in honor of my grandmother Theresa. She had four babies of her own, and for years she would gently say to me, “Just one more, Kimberly.”

This story didn’t start here though, I once carried a very different belief about my body. I always dreamed of having four children, but during a season when chronic illness had taken over, that dream felt out of reach. I was told my body was attacking itself. Diagnoses filled my chart, and expanding our family was not something I was encouraged to consider. I truly believed one child might be all my body could hold, especially following an extremely traumatic emergency birth of my first child.
Then slowly, everything began to shift.
Healing did not happen overnight, but it changed how I saw my body entirely. I watched it rebuild, restore, and strengthen from the inside out. After my second baby, I felt deep gratitude. After my third, awe. And now, at 43, in my fourth and final pregnancy, my easiest yet. There was a quiet confidence this time. A trust built over years of listening to my body and supporting it, with “Life Changing Foods.”
There is not one way to give birth. But many women have been conditioned to expect pain, urgency, and fear.
It does not have to be that way.
A pain free birth is possible.
A peaceful birth is possible.
An ecstatic birth is possible.
A supernatural birth is possible.
When the body feels safe, supported, nourished, and deeply trusted, birth can unfold in a completely different rhythm. One that is calm. One that is intuitive. One that allows space for something greater to move through, just like the steady rhythm of the tides.
Your body was designed for this.
And sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do is create the space for it to do what it already knows how to do.
