Adrenal Support for Life’s Stress

Supporting our adrenals through LIFE…
The sleepless nights are REAL right now! For me, it’s a teething baby, gooey, drooly, fussy, fuss, fuss, fussy. I’m embracing every second of the snuggles, wholeheartedly (with the help of homeopathy and a Baltic amber teething necklace).
The exhaustion is creeping in though from the long nights of nursing, and the early wake ups from my toddler. I know you mamas can relate! Life is BEAUTIFUL right now, but I could definitely use more sleep, peace, and self-care.
Actually, almost everyone I talk to is going through some type of emotional stress, trial, or tribulation right now. There is a lot going on in this ever-changing world, the quickening!
So today I’m going to discuss how you can support your adrenal health. Our adrenal glands produce hormones that regulate stress levels (cortisol and adrenaline) as well as blood sugar levels, but when they are overworked from chronic stress, this can lead to chronic fatigue/low energy levels, brain fog, low blood pressure, salt cravings (or feeling constantly thirsty), and stimulant cravings (including sugary foods).
Whether you have a teething baby, family stress, work stress, or a nervous system that you are working on healing, here are some of the best foods to heal adrenal fatigue that I’m consuming right now in addition to my adrenal snacks (to keep blood sugar levels stable and take stress off the adrenals). Stressful situations happen to us all the time, but by eating these high-quality fruits and veggies we can experience optimal health even when the stress of life gets over the top. So thankful for Medical Medium preaching and teaching us how to care for our bodies when we are under pressure.
10 Adrenal Support Foods
1. Sprouts
The most important role that sprouts and microgreens play is to bring back vitality to people who are always exhausting themselves for others. When you put your heart and soul into everything you do, whether at home or work, sprouts have the unique ability to support you.
2. Wild Blueberries
Wild blueberries hold ancient and sacred survival information from the heavens, going back tens of thousands of years. “It is the number one adaptogenic food.
3. Fruit (Glucose) – Specifically Bananas, Blackberries, Apples, Mangoes
A woman’s reproductive system is like a flowering tree that requires the proper nutrients to bear fruit. And those nutrients come from, well, fruit.
Fertility—and overall health—depends specifically on the fructose and glucose that occur naturally in fruit, as well as the phytochemicals bonded to those sugars.
4. Greens – Spinach, Lettuce, Kale
Leafy greens also hold precious and vital mineral salts, partially composed of a group of cofactors associated with sodium, such as trace bioavailable iodine, chromium, sulfur,” “magnesium, calcium, potassium, silica, manganese, and molybdenum, which are critical for neurotransmitter and neuron support, and are also the fundamental basis of building electrolytes. On top of which, leafy greens are high in enzymes, vitamin A, B vitamins such as folic acid, healing alkaloids (plant compounds that fight disease), micronutrients for restoring the endocrine system, and forms of chlorophyll and carotenes that are specific to these vegetables. This unique group of nutrients works together to feed all organs and body systems, making leafy greens a foundation of our health.
5. Seaweed
Atlantic sea vegetables are the most grounding food possible. When we eat them, we get the energetic essence of going for a swim in the ocean, a very grounding activity.
6. Potatoes
Potatoes offer us foundation and strength when we’re feeling blurred, dizzy, foggy, troubled, or adrift in our lives. If your ego is consuming you, potatoes can tap into the humble confidence within, overriding the toxic emotions that keep you from succeeding in the areas of life that truly matter. Potatoes reorient us, help us to feel pleased and gratified by our experiences, and guide us to make choices not based on ego but out of true grounding and stability.
7. Lemon Balm Tea
Stress and insecurities often cause us to feel fearful about what’s around the bend. We find ourselves lying in bed at night, wondering what will happen to us and our families. If you’re worried about what the future holds for yourself and others, lemon balm can take the worry away and replace it with a sense of peace.
8. Celery juice
We tend to hold a lot of fear in our guts. Nervousness causes those sensations we know as tummy flips or butterflies in the stomach, and anxiety can run deep through the nervous system, putting our guts in knots. Celery restores the entire digestive system. Use it for its calming effects when you are feeling frightened, panicky, shocked, fretful, nervous, threatened, unsure, afraid, or defensive.
9. Coconut water
Coconut water has the ability to hydrate the body on a deep, cellular level making it an essential beverage for athletes and those that live a busy, active life. It’s been shown to help balance PH levels, boost the immune system, and support kidneys filtering toxins and reducing the risk of kidney stones.
10. Honey
If you feel out of touch with miracles, then reacquaint yourself with honey. Unprocessed honey in its raw, living form is nothing less than a miracle from God and the earth. Honey has saved human life during drastic times of starvation, and it will become critical again in the future as a food for our survival. You don’t need to be in dire circumstances to benefit from honey, though. Take a moment to think about what this wild food really is: nectar. It is liquid gold that can turn your life around.
