Why Knowing What to Do Isn’t Always Enough to Change Your Health

Why Knowing What to Do Isn’t Always Enough to Change Your Health

We have access to more health information than ever before.

Podcasts. Books. Social media. Lab testing. Supplements. Protocols. Practitioners. Experts telling us what to eat, what to avoid, what to test, and what to take.

And yet, so many women and families are still overwhelmed.

I understand why.

Because having more information is not the same thing as knowing how to connect the dots.

I have spent my career looking at the whole person.

My professional background began in clinical healthcare as a speech-pathologist, with specialized work in feeding and child development. My education continued into holistic health, natural health and nutrition, toxicology, epigenetics, and then my experience with chronic illness.

My greatest education came when health became personal.

My own journey forced me to look beyond isolated symptoms and begin asking deeper questions.

Why is this happening?

What is contributing to it?

What happened before the symptom appeared?

What is the body asking for support with?

Those questions changed everything.

And in 2015, I found the work of Anthony William, Medical Medium.

For me, this wasn’t simply another piece of health information to add to everything else I had learned.

It changed the framework.

Medical Medium information gave me an entirely different understanding of chronic illness and the patterns I was seeing—pathogens and viral activity, toxins and heavy metals, the liver, the nervous system, the adrenals, deficiencies, and the extraordinary role of healing foods and nutrients.

I applied the information in my own life.

I watched what happened.

I studied it deeply.

And eventually, I began integrating that understanding with my clinical background and years of experience working with women, children, and families.

That intersection ultimately became incredibly important to my work.

Because knowing Medical Medium information and knowing how to responsibly apply that information when supporting another human being are two different skills.

And I realized there was an enormous gap between them.

The Missing Skill: Connecting the Dots

If you have been part of this community for any length of time, you already know how much information there is to learn.

Books filled with information.

Podcasts.

Lives.

Protocols.

Foods.

Supplements.

Cleanses.

Tools for different symptoms and circumstances.

The information is incredibly comprehensive.

But when you are sitting across from an actual person, the question becomes:

How do I take everything I know and understand what matters for this person, right now?

That was the piece I saw missing from traditional health coaching education.

The answer wasn’t another generic health coaching program teaching professionals conventional wellness theories that didn’t align with the information they actually believed in and used.

And it wasn’t simply memorizing Medical Medium protocols.

Professionals needed a way to learn this information deeply and then develop the skills required to apply it thoughtfully, individually, and within an appropriate scope of support.

That is where connecting the dots becomes essential.

One person may be navigating years of neurological symptoms.

Another may be a mother trying to support a child.

Another may be postpartum.

Another may have been chronically ill for decades and be incredibly sensitive to introducing anything new.

You cannot look at each person and hand them the same list.

You have to understand the story.

What came first?

What changed?

What symptoms cluster together?

What exposures may matter?

What is already working?

What is too much right now?

Where does the person need foundational support before adding more?

Within the Medical Medium framework, we can look at viral and pathogen burden, toxins and heavy metals, liver health, the nervous system, adrenal reserves, nutritional deficiencies, and the foods and tools that can support the body’s healing process.

Then we learn how to look at those pieces together.

You learn to listen differently.

You learn to gather a meaningful history.

You recognize patterns.

You ask better questions.

You stop immediately jumping to:

“What supplement should I give them for this symptom?”

Instead, you begin thinking:

What might be driving this? What is adding to the body’s burden? What does this person’s history tell me? And where can we begin supporting the body?

That shift changes the way you support someone.

The Missing Skill: Connecting the Dots

This Is Why I Created the DKS Institute

DKS was not created because the world needed another health coaching program.

It was created because I couldn’t find the professional education I believed this community needed.

There were people who had spent years learning Medical Medium information.

Some had transformed their own health.

Some had watched their children change.

Some had discovered this information after years of searching for answers.

And many felt called to help other people.

But where were they supposed to go next?

They could enroll in a traditional health coaching program—but much of what they would be taught about chronic illness, nutrition, protein, fats, carbohydrates, detoxification, pathogens, supplementation, and the causes of symptoms could directly conflict with the Medical Medium information they had spent years learning.

Or they could continue independently consuming Medical Medium information without ever being taught the professional skills required to sit across from another person and responsibly support them.

Neither option felt complete to me.

That is why I created the DKS Institute.

Medical Medium information isn’t a chapter inside DKS.

It is foundational to the way we understand the body.

DKS provides the professional education surrounding that foundation.

How do you take a detailed history?

How do you organize what someone tells you?

How do you recognize meaningful patterns?

How do you individualize support?

How do you determine where to begin?

How do you communicate recommendations without overwhelming someone?

How do you work with a child differently than an adult?

How does your approach change during different seasons of a woman’s life?

What is within your scope?

When does someone need medical evaluation or another professional?

And how do you continue thinking critically instead of simply memorizing answers?

This is the gap I wanted DKS to fill.

This Is Why I Created the DKS Institute

Medical Medium Gives Us the Information. DKS Teaches Professionals How to Work With It.

I have tremendous respect for the Medical Medium community.

Many people in this community have spent years studying this information because their lives depended on finding answers.

They know the books.

They understand the foods.

They have lived the protocols.

They have experienced things that completely changed what they believe is possible for their bodies.

That knowledge matters.

But supporting another person carries a different responsibility.

DKS doesn’t replace Medical Medium information or reinvent it.

We study it. We respect it. We build from it.

Then we develop the professional skills needed to responsibly bring that knowledge into work with real women, children, and families.

Because the goal isn’t to create practitioners who simply know more information.

It is to develop practitioners who know what to do with what they know.

There Is More Than One Way to Serve

One of my favorite parts of watching this community grow has been seeing how differently women feel called to use what they learn.

Some feel deeply connected to women’s wellness.

Others light up when we talk about children.

Some want to understand the entire family.

And some are called specifically to pregnancy and birth.

That is why the DKS Institute has grown into distinct educational pathways:

DKS Women’s Wellness Support Specialist

For those who want deeper education around supporting women through different seasons of wellness.

DKS Children’s Wellness Support Specialist

For those drawn specifically to supporting children and helping families understand foundational wellness.

DKS Holistic Family Wellness Support Specialist

Our dual pathway for those who want broader education spanning women, children, and the family.

And now, something incredibly special is joining the DKS Institute:

DKS Visualize My Birth™  Wellness Support Specialist

This pathway brings together pregnancy, birth physiology, education, and the Visualize My Birth™ method so professionals can better support mothers as they prepare for one of the most transformational experiences of their lives.

Education Should Make You More Thoughtful, Not More Certain

There is something I tell students that I believe deeply:

The more you learn about the human body, the more respect you should have for its complexity.

Good education should not make us reckless with our words.

It should make us more thoughtful with them.

It should teach us when something is within our role—and when it isn’t.

It should teach us to recognize when someone needs another level of care.

And it should give us the confidence to say:

“I don’t know, but I know how to think through this and where to look next.”

That is the kind of practitioner I want the DKS Institute to develop.

Not someone who has memorized my answers.

Not someone who has memorized a list of supplements for every symptom.

And not someone who believes there is one identical protocol for every person.

I want practitioners who understand the Medical Medium information deeply enough to recognize patterns, respect the individual in front of them, stay within their role, and know how to keep learning.

Maybe You Have Been Preparing for This Longer Than You Realize

Maybe You Have Been Preparing for This Longer Than You Realize

Maybe Medical Medium information changed your life.

Maybe you found it because you were sick.

Maybe you found it because your child needed answers.

Maybe you’ve spent years reading the books, listening to the information, changing the way your family eats, and experiencing firsthand what happens when you finally understand what may be behind chronic symptoms.

And somewhere along the way, your passion became bigger than your own healing.

People started asking you questions.

You became the person friends called.

You started thinking:

I want to do something with everything I’ve learned.

If that sounds familiar, DKS was created for people like you.

Your personal experience alone doesn’t prepare you to professionally support another person.

But it may be what brought you here.

The next step is learning how to take everything you have learned and develop the professional skills to use that knowledge responsibly.

To gather.

To listen.

To recognize patterns.

To individualize.

To know your boundaries.

To know when to refer.

To continue learning.

And ultimately, to become the kind of practitioner you may have wished you could find during your own journey.

Medical Medium information gave so many of us a different way to understand chronic illness.

DKS exists to help the professionals in this community become exceptionally prepared to support the people who are searching for that same understanding.

The next chapter of the DKS Institute is beginning.

And I cannot wait to see who it calls forward.
